First off, let me say that I hate getting sick when there’s stuff coming up that I want to be healthy for. My dad is coming up tomorrow for our Christmas, so of course, Tuesday night I come down with nasty cold. Sore throat, fever, chills, sniffles, headache. Yuck. Today I’m feeling much better than I was yesterday, but that’s not saying much considering how bad I felt yesterday. I’m hoping that tomorrow sees the same level of improvement and I can afford to be social with my dad.
In other news, people are idiots. I usually prefer to think kinder thoughts on my fellow human beings, but dealing with some of the stuff I have been at work, people are just.. dumb. Don’t get me wrong. I understand that people have an unrealistic expectation of buying a several hundred dollar camera and having it make all their pictures come out wonderfully. BUT, when I explain in very basic terminology why their pictures (taken indoors, in a gymnasium, using 10x optical zoom) are dark or blurry, it really astounds me when they write back insisting the camera is broken.
I had forgotten that ‘most’ people really, truly, honestly believe that professional photographers snap one picture and get a perfect shot. They never really understand how many bad pictures are being taken to get that one perfect shot.
One of my coworkers was telling me that when he worked with customer service for traditional film, there were the occasional customers who would demand that they be reimbursed for their vacations when the pictures didn’t come out. Oy.

I had one guy buy one of our bare bones basic point and shoots that happens to be 5 megapixel and e-mail us to complain about the picture quality being poor when compared to his 'only' 4 megapixel Canon camera.
