I had intended to do picspam this weekend, but between the virus and my work's holiday party, it didn't even come close to happening. Lucky for you, that just means you get Sunday Picspam a couple of days late.

Here's New Terra Lostundo. One of the reasons why the rebuild has taken so long is that I spent quite a bit of time making sure the hood itself was going to be as useable as possible while still keeping things where they were. This meant I spent time smoothing the roads and terrains out and making sure I could fit in as many houses as I wanted to.

Over on the right hand side, you can see Legacina Main. Up on the hill above it is the Walton house, while closer to the lake is the Thompson house. I write that the Walton house is actually far away, but it's probably physically the closest populated home to the main house. Also on the right side of the screen is the 'business district' of the neighborhood. That's where all of Matthew's businesses are located, as well as a couple of others I built. Adrian and Adrian actually own a flower shop there.

Speaking of unpopulated houses, I've got placed in there some of my own houses, some houses I downloaded and some I built specifically on these lots. I've got a few empty lots placed down to reserve unique locations. When I want a distraction, I'll probably head into those lots and build something to make it look a little more populated.

You're probably bored with my rambling about the neighborhood, aren't you?

Now, I don't know if it's Apartment Life or Mansion & Garden Stuff, but one of them is rickrolling you on a daily basis. I discovered these while playing my simself.

In the original hood, I thought it would be cool to make her a townie. That ended up being a pain in the butt, but I never got around to actually fixing it. This time around, I moved her into a house and I was going to make her a painting mule.

It was a very cute little house by plasticbox at MTS2. A very cute, unplayable house. The damn thing was WAAAAY too small to do anything of use in besides queuestomp and have tantrums in. It needed to get rebuilt.

While this is all this rebuilding and decision making was happening, though, my simself had some visitors. This was her welcome wagon - Dean, Lisa, and Nathaniel.

Yes, THAT Nathaniel. Mind you, they'd only had one 'chat' at this point.

They also actually only had one bolt. I took a peek and they had three neutral turn ons and one negative turn on between them. Changing one of my simself's turn ons to a postive towards him put them at two bolts right away. They'd be easy to get to three bolts.

Not that I think they need it. They're sitting at two bolts right now and my simself stalks him like there's no tomorrow. He's almost as bad.

Y'know, I'm almost tempted to get them together, but that opens up such a can of worms. I've always said I would avoid marrying simselves into the families and any that did would end up being mortal. So, if I hooked my simself up with Nathaniel, would that mean he's immortal? or she's mortal? And how does that work for the whole family? I'm tempted, but I'm not sure I want to deal with it all.

I had a plot line in the works for Nathaniel when the hood went kerplodey. I could modify it to try and work this in, or I could just do what I needed to set it up again. I'm still not sure yet. Regardless, that plotline wouldn't be showing up until 4.10.

Of course, I'm also tempted by the thought of cute babies.

Back to the rest of the neighborhood, I have to say, thank goodness for Insim.

I was making sure that Zoey and Christian knew all their grandchildren before sending them to the great beyond. Well, technically Aeric isn't their grandhcild. So technically there are interaction options on him that shouldn't be available between a grandparent and grandchild. And also technically, they're very easy to accidentally click on.

So, Zoey tried to leap into Aeric's arms, Aeric quickly ran away, and Christian was pissed. He did far worse than that back in the day, but still. InSim quickly fixed it up and had them lovey dovey once more.

Not that it made it any easier to send them off again. I can't imagine having to do this as many times as Jenn had to do in rebuilding Familiarity. I only had six sims I had to send off and it was still tough.

Louise was NOT happy with me for this. I kept her from knowing Taylor and Professor Kelly, but there was no good way to deal with having her avoid knowing Zoey and Christian if I wanted them to know Elijah.

She wasn't the only one upset. This time, all four of Sophie and Orlando's kids got a chance to know Charlie and Vic. That made goodbye even harder for them all. I think the only one who didn't break down completely was Orlando.

Even my mean little Raleigh broke down. If anything, I think she took it even harder than the other kids did. Even if she wasn't my favorite of the house, I'd have to do something nice for her to make up for this.

Once Gen Two was given its send off, it was time to go get the last member of the household. Elijah was still upset about saying goodbye to his grandparents, but I was eventually able to get him to book the reservations for him and Shelby.

The only way to get Steve back was to actually go get a new Bigfoot.

That also meant that they spent a great deal of time on their vacation digging.

Before they got the map to the hidden burrow, they got two broken watermains, the map to the pagoda in the shadows, the mysterious hut, six bones, four rocks, and a vase.

Of course, I'm not a complete slave driver. They also had a slightly more personal mission to complete on this vacation. It involved a lullaby.

When the hood exploded, Shelby was just about ready to give birth to their third child. It was an extremely lucky roll that got them pregnant in the first place, but there was no way I was going to chance them NOT getting pregnant this time around. I want a third baby and I made sure they were going to give it to me.

"Wait. SNOW?!? Didn't I go on some big quest to get rid of this stuff?!?"

The combination of Seasons and BonVoyage is probably one of the best EP combos. Between the two of them, they add so much to the look of the game. While Elijah and Shelby slept, it snowed and snowed and snowed, so they woke up to a winter wonderland in which they needed to go find their Steve.

Their Steve was eagerly waiting, ready to teach them the Slap Dance. One foreign dance down, two more to go. I'm sure that the Hula will be picked up the moment I send everyone on grandparent vacations. I need to figure out when to stage them, but they are going to get them.

This Steve happened to also be named Amar, which is what my Steve was originally named. He also had a different face. The original Steve had the Brandon Lillard face. I'm not sure which one this is, but it has a big beak nose rather than a smushed frog nose.

Regardless of what he looked like, he was (with the help of InSim) very eager to accept their offer to move home with them.

Once they were home, I unlocked someone's career rewards (Persephone, I think) and got the house a makeover machine. Within moments, I had Steve looking the way he was supposed to. Since Bigfoots can't breed, it's the easiest way to keep the bigfoot coding (yay Bigfoot hugs!) and still have the Steve everyone knows and loves.

"Oh hey, look. Someone left some kids lying around. Cute little rugrats."

In addition to getting saying goodbye to Gen Two and getting a new Steve, I also spent time redecorating the houses. Some I stayed true to what I had done previously, others I just went with a best guess and did some remodeling. Dean and Miranda's house was one I tried to get relatively close to what they had, mostly since I hadn't had a chance to play it too much yet.

"Wait, you mean those kids are MY kids? Well daaamn. I make some good looking babies, don't I?"

Well, kinda. You had some help on these ones, Dean.

Miranda's one half of their genetic contribution and I think her pixelated genes had something to say about the way the kids look. She's also a really great mother. Everyone always bitches about pop sims being horrible parents, but I've only rarely seen that.

Finally, I want to say thanks again to Jenn for recoloring this hair for me. It's just what I needed for Moon to have the look I wanted her to have. Now she can have her white hair AND show off her elf ears. Thank you. :)

I'm currently working on 4.9. I had wanted to have it out by Christmas, but with losing a whole day to the virus, I'm not sure if that is going to be feasible now. I'm still going to try, though. I've got a bunch of scenes I need to shoot to get what I didn't get the first time around or pad scenes that I need padded. There's also one plotty scene I need to shoot that may take a little time.

Anyway, that's where things stand for now. :)

Awesome picspam and behind the scenes info! I love Star's new hair, and the look Louise gave you. I vote for Nathaniel and you. And Zoey's look at that slap was priceless.

Yay for the Legacinas! I'm so glad to see that you finally have them up and running and that you have your computer working as well and that there is an update in the works (even if we don't get it in time for Christmas). I'm excited about a third Elijah/Shelby baby too. Do you have her facial template working correctly now since you had to rebuild?

I've never had any trouble with pop sims as parents either. They just love meeting new people!

The kids are all still absolutely adorable. Moon looks like she is going to be a little spit-fire when she gets older.

Moon's got a very interesting personality. She's nice and shy compared to Star's outgoing and mean. I'm looking forward to seeing how she grows up. :)

Shelby was the only spouse I made in CAS. I discovered that if a sim with her face template is created as one of the default dormie/townie/downtownie/whatever, it still has a broken template, even with the fix in place. So, she was created in CAS with Elijah. That should mean her genetics are fixed.

It's been a while since we've had any picspam from anyone around here, so yay!

I love that neighborhood. Is that the Alpinelock terrain? I always thought that one was very pretty.

I'm really tempted to call for a simOrikes/Nathanial hook up, but I know that it might be hard to work into the story. Still, they're cute together and I've wanted to see Nathanial settle down for while now. :)

I think that's the name of the terrain. It's one of the first in the list. I originally chose it because it had the lake and it looked like it would be pretty. When Bon Voyage came out, I desperately wished that it had some potential beach lots. When I was rebuilding, I thought about switching terrains, but in the end figured I'd stick with this one.

I've been looking at a terrains a LOT the past couple of nights, which is why I recognized it. Since I'm going to do a rebuild, I'm giving Strangetown a new terrain. The default one just doesn't have enough roads. So I've been looking at a lot of them before I finally settled on one.

I was wishing that Alpinloch terrain had beach lots too. I'll just settle for sticking some in my downtown, like you did.

Alpinloch's not a bad terrain, as long as you can build on slopes. Otherwise, you end up destroying all the hills by flattening all of the lots.

It's not that bad. I'd say about half my lots are flat and the other half are built on slopes. Admittedly, I've got the neighborhood terrain tool that came with FreeTime to help out. There are a few sections of the roads I can't use because of the hills, but I've still got plenty of spaces I can use a flat lot on.

I actually could have flattened it further, but I wanted to import some of the houses I'd already built on slopes. :)

Yeah, I have no ability to change neighborhood terrain. Now that I've got the hang of slope-building, it's not so bad, but in its original state, there are a lot of really steep slopes in that template.

Love the picspam! I was laughing so much at your simself and Nathaniel's antics. I'm interested to see what you'll do with that. I'm glad that Elijah and Shelby got Steve back, and that baby #3 is on the way again. And RIP (again) generation 2. *sadface*

Yay for picspam! It's nice to see that everyone's back as they were, even if it meant having to re-kill a couple of generations.

*Dies laughing at Elijah's Boxers* Just the...and the face and *DIES*

Hem, ok now that I've gotten that over with yay for picspams and rebuilds!

Killing off previous generations again can't be fun *sadface* but hey, loosely moralled simselves FTW!

Some of the maxis stuff has really fun names, I've stopped noticing it at this point but it's still cute.

Yay for picspam, it's looks like you are getting everything set back up fairly well.

Killing off the previous gens is painful :( Not fun for anyone, including the player. I'm dreading my next few rotations, with generation five going.

OH MY GOD ELIJAH'S UNDERWEAR. I can't decide whether they're better than Kyle's shirt or not!!!

Hahaha well you know what I'd say in regards to Nathaniel. BAYBEEZ. But it would be hard to work into the plotline. If you can make it work I think it'd be awesome, but if you can't, I'm sure Nate will survive.

Aren't they absolutely made of win? They come from http://simsgogogo.moonfruit.com/ which is a defunct site with male only clothing and stuff. They've got some nice suits and outfits.

I love seeing people's neighbourhood pictures, I obsess about how mine looks *blushes*!

I can't believe that you are thinking of denying Nathaniel true love! There better be a good plot line in mind for him to make up for it :)

Your neighborhood looks very nice.

I've always loved Nate and knew there was someone special out there for him. :) It would probably stop the nagging from his family members when they found out that he fell for an immortal and was going to join the ranks. I'll admit though, I kind of liked how his story line was progressing and he was going to remain the bachelor uncle forever. You're a great writer though, so I'm sure you'll be able to work it in however you choose.

Heheh. Compliments will get you everywhere. ;) I'm pondering the Nate situation. Not sure what I'll come up with, but I adore him too much not to make him happy.
