This is why I heart Keith. Well, that and the giant cuddlyositude and the outrage (fans self). I'm just glad he's allergic to cats.
My only quibbles are:
1) KO, you say that no one in your extended family is gay and that you don't have any personal tales about close friends? I suspect you might be wrong about that. I recognize our mutual straight obtuseness--the kind of thing that makes us cock our head to one side and say "Durrrr. . . .Anderson Cooper is GAY?"
2) You said on The View that you don't vote (!) and that's your choice, but I HOPE that if you'd been a Californian, you would have made an exception for this.
But that said, it was a lovely Special Comment and touched me to tears.
I'm happy to say that Olbermann just got a four-year extension of his contract. So much for "they're angry at him at MSNBC and are going to get rid of him."
Anderson's one of those people where everyone knows he's gay, and he's out to the people who actually matter to him, but he's probably never going to make a public announcement about it. (*sigh* Sad for us ladies. He is indeed very yummy).
I think Stephen Colbert is yummier. Olbermann is cute on the small screen, but I think in RL, he'd probably scare me. He's about 6'3" or 6'4" and BIG, with a big, deep, voice, plus he yells a lot and has some anger issues. He's working on 'em, but I would probably be really nervous anyway.
You should see the clip of his appearance on The View. He's so huge that he looks like Ferdinand the Bull.
Oh wait, we can bring Stephen into this? What about Jon? Snarky lovely fake newsmen FTMFW.
I haven't seen enough of Olbermann to have an opinion one way or the other, really. He doesn't look that tall behind the desk, I'll say that much. And I haven't gotten around to watching him on The View, but I will at some point.
I actually had no idea who that was until I read the comments. Obviously, I don't watch the news much. But thanks for posting that. Very eloquently-spoken. If I weren't already on the "right side," that just might've made me change my mind. At least, I like to think so. Maybe, hopefully, it'll change some other people's minds.
That was really well said. I wish I had seen this two weeks ago when I was one of the people holding a 'NO on 8' sign on a street coroner. I said similar things but no where near as eloquently or with as many expamples.

That is an absolutely awesome icon, though, Prof.
