I took Thursday and Sunday off so I could have time to clean the apartment as good as it needs. Unfortunately for my housekeeping goals, my father decided to come into town this weekend. I'm delighted to get a chance to see him, but the apartment's only about a quarter done with the cleaning I needed to do.

The living room is mostly done. I still need to get out a couple of pieces of furniture I no longer need and put the finishing touches on things, but for the most part, it's done. Furniture's been moved, floor's been cleaned, stuff put back together. The biggest part of the project was taking down, cleaning, and putting back up in a new location the fishtank that had gotten really disgusting. Never use river stones in place of gravel. They're a bitch to clean and they really showcase all the algae your fish don't clean up. I should just give up on keeping a fishtank since I never keep it as clean as I should, but I still have five hearty fish still living, so I can't abandon them. They're currently wondering WTF is going on as they sit in a fishbowl in the dining room while the new water in their tank runs through the filter for a few hours.

On Sunday I should be able to devote my cleaning efforts to the dining room. My mom's hutch that I inherited is only half full and the remaining china and stuff are still in totes. I'll get all that put away and give the room a good cleaning. I haven't seen the top of my dining room table since about March. Yeah, it's gotten pretty bad. For the most part, I enjoy entertaining and having people over, but the apartment's been so messy and disorganized for the last few months, I haven't wanted anyone to come over. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Now for the picspam.

Despite Elijah's GRR and the fact that everyone's clamoring for 4.8, I needed some play time after the BC. It had been a few months since I'd had a chance to just play my sims, so this was a needed break. I do want to get 4.8 out asap, and I still intend to have it out by the end of the month/beginning of November at the latest. But playing.. mm... I missed my sims.

Did you know that sims could autonomously bust-a-move? I didn't. I don't think I'd ever seen it before, but when I was playing a random house I'm not going to name, Ophelia suddenly pulled this out on Persephone. What's funny is that any time I direct Opie to do it, she gives me the 'Oh god, do I have to?' look.

There's a lot of playing I did in this run through that I can't talk about. I want to. Desperately. But I refuse to give too many spoilers away.

I did spend some time getting the Waltons caught up with the rest of the hood too. Star cracks me up. The whole house cracks me up. I've got a bunch of pictures from this run through with them, but I'm thinking I'll save them for the actual update or at least a BTS after the update.

I will say that Star now has a little sister named Moon. I don't know what she looks like yet, but peeking in SimPE, she's another mutant personality. Moon and Oz will probably get along as they're scandalized by their older siblings.

The other house I played fairly extensively, as people already know from my 'FINALLY' post, was the Whedonberry house. (No more spoiler warnings since I know Ruby's read it, yay!) Dean was not happy with me as we made a bad choice on a chance card. Dean originally came through with the LTW to be a cult leader which I thought was hilarious. Unfortunately, without a college education, there was no way he'd be able to get that LTW, so I rerolled him. He came up Adventure which was just as appropriate.

I cheated and used InSim to get him back in the career track after this one. We're just going to pretend that we didn't make the wrong choice. After all, how does deciding to protect the rare cave worm result in destroying all of them as well as your own reputation!? Hrmph.

Being that this is Miranda and Dean, on their first weekend they threw a house party. Miranda invited pretty much 80% of her friends list. That meant there were 40+ people at the house. My computer held up, but the house was laggy as might be expected.

There was a lot of slap dancing. It's the new hula in the neighborhood. I'm sure Steve would have rather taught everyone the Hustle, though.

There was also a lot of this. That's Miranda and Dean's cat, Droop. Miranda missed Cecil, so she got a cat. Hey, it made sense to her.

Flavius enjoyed the chance to meet many new people, though he continues to have mildly inappropriate interactions with teenage girls. At least this one was initiated by Charlotte instead of him.

As a side note, I discovered the other day that Ophelia apparently snuck in a woohoo with Flavius. I have NO idea when this happened, but it's right there in her memories. Big purple heart, Flavius' name. I'm really sorry Prof. Believe me, as soon as you grow up, I'll let you put a leash on him. In the mean time, I am keeping an eye on him as best I can.

Another Sim-Behaving-Badly-On-ACR was Scott and Lacey.. er.. Christa. I think they may have met at Miranda and Dean's real wedding (not the staged one), but I know they're not even friends yet. Apparently Scott really likes her, though.

Louise thinks it's funny.

"Heh heh... Little to the right, sweetheart."

"Remove your arm from my breast and I'll leave your kidneys inside your body cavity. And my wife won't decapitate you."

The Whedonberry house is designed around a huge room specifically for parties. Unfortunately, the stereo was hard to place so this type of thing didn't happen all the time. I think I've got it better, but people still try and dance among the couches.

This was actually a different night when they just invited the other bachelors over for dinner. I think at this point, Miranda was sleeping (pregnant) and Dean was burning dinner.

He does this. A lot.

"This is disgusting!"

I love Nate, but he's not the brightest of sims. As a side note, in this picture you can see the lovely painting that Sarah put together for me of shots from Miranda and Dean's wedding. Thank you again, Sarah. I love it. Even if it makes Dean crack up every time he looks at it.

So, after getting most of the houses up to Fall in the main hood, I switched over to some of the secondary houses, including Sarah and Chris's house. I quickly discovered that I'd made another error in judgement.

Gertie died. I don't know if she was brought home as an old dog or just got old without me realizing it. All I knew is I was making Chris skill and then suddenly he stopped to start crying. Panicking, I found this going on. Dammit.

So, I got them another dog. I couldn't think of a good Piratical name, so he kept his name. Moody. Moody is not the smartest of dogs. He can't figure out how to use the stairs up to the rest of the house and he would rather sleep on the concrete than sleep in a pet bed. I had to direct him to get in this bed for this picture.

All the same, Thaco loves him.

He loves it much more than he likes the broken shower at the very least. He's about the most stubborn sim I've ever had in regards to fixing a broken shower. It took about five tries before the shower was fixed. The fact that the shower head kept hilariously exploding in his face had nothing to do with why I kept directing him to do it when I could have just had Chris and his 10 mechanical points do it.

Thaco is a popularity sim, so on his weekend, it was time to throw a party. He ended up inviting every teen in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, there aren't that many of them and Charlotte didn't like him well enough to show up.

"You're pregnant?"

"Yes, isn't it wonderful?"

"Uh.. whatever mom. I'm not changing any diapers."

As you might have heard, Chris and Sarah were exempted from being made into children by the fact that they had a child and another on the way. During this rotation, they brought A.C. into the family. A.C. is short for 'Armor Class', which is why he's called A.C.

A.C.'s birthday was a small affair (since most of the other simselves were at home in bed on a school night), with Sharla Ottomas as the only guest. Thaco may not be thrilled with no longer being an only child, but he gets along okay with his little brother.

I'm really pleased with how different A.C. looks from Thaco. He looks like he got more of Sarah's features than Chris's. He also has a very different personality. He's a happy, messy sagitarius (2/3/10/7/10). I don't know if 7 is enough to be a tub pirate, but I'm hoping so.

Why is A.C. laughing in this picture? Oh no, it has nothing to do with Thaco tickling him. It has everything to do with the fact that he is soon going to be an older brother. I only played the house long enough to get A.C. to toddler, but moments before I left the house, Sarah and Chris threw me ANOTHER lullaby.

They're really cashing in their Anti-Childification Insurance Policy.

Finally, I'm going to leave you with one last toddler picture. I shouldn't show you it, but I couldn't help it. This is Rachel. I'm not telling you who her parents are because I'm wondering if you'll guess. I will neither confirm nor deny any guesses, but I'm curious what you might come up with.

You could also stick him in one of the Doctor Who shirts that are floating around... he's a huge fan. I think there's one on the same textures as those pirate t-shirts, possibly at GoS.

If it helps, the PM exchange was way back when I first sent you pics of some of your sims' offspring.
