AL Adorable
Sep. 1st, 2008 05:13 pmI haven't really had much of a chance to play with Apartment Life, what with going to Binghamton and working on the BC, but today when I went in to shoot a couple of plotty scenes for the next BC update, I saw a new interaction that made me melt. And this is even taking into account the odd couple I saw doing it.

Apparently, if one half of a couple wakes up before the other, they'll now stay in bed and cuddle their sleeping partner for a while. There are even tender little kisses on the other's forehead. If it had been anyone other than these two, I would probably be a puddle of squeeing goo at this point.
I can't wait to find out even more of these little interactions.

Date: 2008-09-02 12:00 am (UTC)I'm liking AL quite a bit. It's a resource hog as far as what it takes to run it and my game is loading much slower now, but I like a lot of what they've added with it. The ceilings are LOVELY and easy to use and all the little interactions and... PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT!!!
*cough*
Anyway. :)

Date: 2008-09-02 06:40 am (UTC)I could swing a new computer, but I can't justify the expense for a game, when this one works great for everything else.
Hi
Date: 2008-09-01 11:56 pm (UTC)I just found it extremely funny seing Uranium doing that! And I love your legacy, too!

Date: 2008-09-02 06:02 pm (UTC)I've got EVGA GeForce 6800GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 as my card. It's a solid card from what I understand, but it and Sims2 do not play well together. I think after Bon Voyage, I had to turn use shaders off to keep from having the BSOD problem constantly.

Date: 2008-09-03 01:06 am (UTC)That having been said, if you've got the money to upgrade the card, you might want to anyhow. A 6800GS is a few generations old at this point, though for a card from that series it's pretty good. Still, if you're thinking of getting any newer games (Sims 3, Spore, whatever) you might want to see if you can fit an 8800GT into your budget if you want to stick with nVidia... and if you're running an Intel box, you probably should. If you're using an AMD CPU, you might want to switch to ATI though, in which case I recommend my card, the HD3870, which should be about the equivalent power and price. Neither of those are exactly cheap, but they're not the brand-newest cards, either, so the price is coming down on them. Preferably the 512M versions, either way.

Date: 2008-09-03 02:35 am (UTC)While these things won't erase the BSOD issue, they may alleviate the problem enough that I can play with useshaders on again. I'm going to look into the latest nvidia drivers as well. It's been a while since I last updated them anyway.
If I get through this and I still get the BSOD, then I'll definitely be shopping for a new video card. While I plan on sticking it out with Sims2 for a while, I may still get Sims3 when it comes out, so I sould be prepared.
I definitely want to switch to ATI and that I'll need some guidance on.

Date: 2008-09-02 10:29 am (UTC)If you've got a sort of architectural enjoyment in the game like I did, you're probably in love with the ceilings. I personally can't get over how cool they look!
And I'm loving all the interactions. Especially the new kiss interaction: Dance, and the children playing on the new and improved playground.
And I'm juist curious to see how you're going to use witches to your Pseudo advantage... :D

Date: 2008-09-02 02:37 pm (UTC)Just as a hint, one of the evil witch spells is to take away people's memories. I already have plans for using it on a member of my yet-to-be-born fifth generation but I know you could find a use for it :D
