Toddler Spam and Banned4Lyfe

As a side note on things concerning real life, I went ahead and bought the bed this past Sunday. I won't get it until Saturday, but I did it. I got the one I'd mentioned earlier. I did a little research and it seemed like the best deal. I can't wait. I'm feeling every dent and bump in my 'old' bed now.

Now to spam people with more Sim Stuff. Since the last Pseudo update, I'd pretty much updated to where I'd played. I'd obviously gone a little further since a couple of the couples had babies already, but now I've allowed myself to play and see what the little'uns look like.

It's kind of funny how excited I get over these little pixel people.

Anyway...

Star has got to be one of the cutest toddlers I've ever had. I think it's partially her button nose and the fact that her eyes are larger than normal. She's going to be a handful, but right now she's absolutely adorable.

As a side note, if you don't have an OFB Jack-in-the-Box in your nursery, you really need to.



Aeric and Venus are decent parents. They haven't really rolled up any wants for Star, but I've caught both of them autonomously doing sweet things for her.


Over in the Thayer household, Jacob rules the roost. I've taken a page from Ndainye's book and I've been letting my sims choose their own activities. As a result, I haven't locked the toddlers onto a learning toy and forgotten about them. Jacob is most likely to follow an adult around until and beg for attention.



Or follow Kirby around. The two of them trade off on Jacob cuddling Kirby and Kirby licking Jacob. Jacob also has free reign on Kirby's food dish. (As a side note, I'm almost surprised we haven't seen someone putting down pet food for their toddlers instead of bottle feeding them...)



Jeremiah and Meadow surprised me and did not roll up any learning wants for Jacob. Because of that, Nathaniel did most of the teaching. I think he got credit for potty training and talking. I had Jeremiah do the walking honors.



Meadow, stereotypical sim that she is, went ahead and did the stereotypical thing and gave birth to their next child in the smallest bathroom of the house. I don't have pictures of him, but Jacob is a big brother to Caleb Thayer now. (There's somewhat of a theme to their names - can anyone guess it?)



Even though she's technically Gen Four, I also have pictures of a toddlerized Charlotte Thompson. I also jotted down her personality. I think she is my first born-in-game Aquarius. She's also going to be a fun one - 1/1/3/10/10. She'll be a creepy-smiler!




It had been a while since I'd played the house, so I'd forgotten a couple of things. Like the fact that Vic and Charlie had rolled up teaching wants for her. Charlotte is the fastest trained toddler I've ever had... just because I made sure to give them both their want. I quit before it hit 6pm. I'm positive that one of them is going.



Oh, and I did promise a Banned4Lyfe moment, didn't I?



Ah, werewolf logic. Why take a shower when the sink is right there? And your zombie wife gets to stare at your hairy butt while you sponge bathe!

Yay little pixel people! Very adorable babies all around, and it looks like there is going to be an interesting mix of personalities in this generation (subset ~ since I know they aren't all the same generation).

I'm really getting used to the whole don't force skilling mindset. I doubt that I ever forced skilling to the point that many people do just because I find fully maxxed skilled adults extremely boring but with more of a decide for yourself attitude there's an interesting mix of skills and personality even the hidden aspects of personality make a difference. Hobbies are going to add a lot to that as well from what I've seen so far.

Brody is making me laugh and I won't pass along the caption that's floating through my mind.

I find fully maxed adults boring too, but being a sometime power gamer, I got caught up in the whole 'SKILL SKILL SKILL!' attitude. It's much more fun when they do what they want and actually have somewhere to go with their lives. At this point, the scholarship money isn't needed for the Greek House, so why bother?

Oh Brody, how much do I love you? :) These are some adorable toddlers you have in your game now, they really are. And I love the hair you have on Charlotte - it's very cute.

I've been trying to let the toddlers do what they want, too. It's interesting to see if they head directly to a skilling toy or not. Although I must admit that I do stop them from playing in the toilet - that just disgusts me. :)

Hehe. I've done that before.

The only thing I stop the toddlers from doing is following a parent around aimlessly. Especially if the parent is upstairs sleeping. :)

I know what the theme is! I know what the theme is! It started with Micah, didn't it? :D (and Kiley threw me off totally, so I was happy to see it continue with the next generation! You know, Isaiah is a nice name... as is Daniel, or Esther...).

And those toddlers are absolutely gorgeous.

I'm letting my sims do what they want more as well. While I plunk the toddlers down in a skilling room, I let them go for whichever object they want rather than forcing the bunny head. I think it's mostly because I want them to choose their own hobbies once I get FT.

I really only consciously started doing it with Jeremiah and Meadow's kids. So if I'd been aware of what I was doing, I would have named Kiley something more appropriate. Probably Rachel or Rebecca. :) I have a feeling that Jeremiah and Meadow will give me at least one more kid - I'm hoping for a little girl.

Second on loving Charlotte's hair.

I tend to skill like mad--my legacy kids, anyway, not so much the other households. Sometimes I'll cheat them just enough skill points so they do't have to skill in college. But the hands-off policy leads to som really cute things I would have missed otherwise. I didn't see an adult Playing With a toddler playing xylophone until I did that. . .and I just saw a kid shocking an adult by scuffing her feet on the carpet! And I learn a lot by watching toddlers now, too. DG was the most attention-seeking child I have ever seen. It's all Jen's fault :).

"Follow so-and-so" when so-and-so is upstairs, though. . .that's just annoying.

I think for me it was the attitudes at MATY. Many of the louder voices there were all about skilling skilling skilling and if you didn't have all your skills maxed, you FAIL! Reading their stuff made me a better simmer, but I also realized it's not quite as fun on the long term if they max everything early. I would still like to have someone get the billiards scholarship, but otherwise.. feh. :) They can do what they will.. within a certain degree. I probably micromanage more than Ndainye, but it's not as much as I used to.

Aww, toddlers! ^_^ I always kind of want to get them to skill as much as I can, but lately I've been trying to be more hands-off with them, too. We'll see how long I can hold out- I'm such a worrier. *sighsigh*

All of them are so cute. I love how Nathaniel's taking such good care of Jacob, too, and yay for future creepy-smilers! They seem so rare in this era of one-nice-point sims. And I'm going to be so miserable when Vic and Charlie go. I love those two so much. D:

I will review your update soon, I promise. I read it, I've just been hideously lazy- I haven't even read some of the other recent updates, and forget my friends' original writing. *sigh*

I was going to wait to say anything until after I read your newest Pseudo update, but bah. Star surely is a cute toddler but all of three of them look mighty adorable to me. I must admit that the picture of Aeric holding Star is especially adorable though. I think it's the combination of their unusual skintones and the ears.

Are you going Bibical names in general or only Old Testament? Inquiring minds want to know.
