Christmas Spirit

orikesFor the first time in .. well.. ever, I'm unenthused about putting up a Christmas Tree. I went out this afternoon with the intention of going to the store then stopping somewhere and getting a tree to bring back to the apartment. Somewhere between wandering the store and getting back to the car, I decided to not get a Christmas Tree this year.
I don't know whether I'm being lazy or I'm just feeling blah about the season. It's not like I"m dreading Christmas. There's definitely stuff I'm looking forward to, but all the stuff that usually gets me excited is more or less 'bleh' this year. Decorating, cookie baking, gift buying.. I'm just not getting into it. Maybe part of it is that there'll be no one other than me and the roommate to enjoy the decorating this year (no parties here). Maybe it's that I don't have any really spectacular ideas for gifts for anyone. Maybe it's just that I'm lazy.
Ah well. Maybe I just need a year off, so to speak, to recharge. As a really sad note, I realized that I could send out the Christmas cards I filled out last year and never mailed. :)
