Sim Stuff - Getting the Look Right
Nov. 7th, 2007 04:17 amHave you ever just absolutely struggled to get a sim's look just right? I like getting their hair and clothes set early and sticking with a single look so it's easier to identify them. Both for me and anyone reading the legacy.
Well, tonight I got Miranda to college. She had about 7 days left as a teen, but I didn't want to spend too much more time in the main house, or Matthew and Persephone would be too close to becoming elders. So, she got to throw one last party as a teen and then head off to college.
I think I went through about six different outfits and three or four different hairstyles before I finally settled on her look. I'd get her in one outfit and then something about it would bug me. One skater punk outfit seemed like it would work, but it was advertising Buffy. Another outfit seemed like it would work, but the mesh made her neck really funny (this irks me for other reasons, because otherwise I really like the outfit). Another was too fancy. Another didn't fit the permanent winter. (Maybe I really do need to do an apocalypse, just so I can get used to dealing with sims who don't look perfect.)
Anyway... Here she is.

All that agony and I actually ended up going with something rather simple and basic. What I wanted was that top with some skater punk shorts, but I couldn't find those as a separate pants item. Ah well. I like this look.
Edit to add: She's the spitting image of Persephone. At one point, I put her in the Persephone pig tails and the resemblence was disturbing. If she was blond, you wouldn't be able to tell her and Persephone apart.
