I need a little bit of help from my comic book familiar friends.

First, though, let me give you a little bit of background. I've been getting into running one-shot games for conventions, so last fall, so last fall I created teen teenage super-powered characters. It's a low key setting, so the kids are supposed to keep their powers a secret. I enjoy running them quite a bit, and it's been a successful with the three scenarios I've run them through.

I've got one friend, though, who really doesn't like playing teenagers. Essentially, his philosophy is, "I have a teenager. I really don't need to play one." He's still played the game when I've run it, but he'd obviously prefer something else. When I mentioned I was planning on running a couple of games at an upcoming local convention, he batted his eyelashes and asked if I could run a game with older characters. I told him I'd think about it. Another friend overheard this and jokingly suggested that I run a game with a bunch of retired super heroes in their 60's and 70's. The more I think about it, though... the more fun I think that could actually be.

What I need from you guys, though, is help coming up with some appropriate Golden Age/Silver Age characters. So far, the idea I have percolating is that these characters were the founding members of a Justice Leage/Avengers type of organization. This setting will be much more over the top, like typical comic book settings. The characters are all retired and living in a retirement community in Florida. They gave their best years to protecting the world, and now they're living out their twilight years in Sunny Florida. Only problem is, something happens to the current team and they're the only ones available to do anything about it.

I want the Golden Age/Silver Age feel to be just right with these characters. In actuality, the time frame would have the characters be Silver Age, but there's a lot to be said about the themes and names from Golden Age.

So... Anyone have any advice? :)

Awesome. :)

Well, I don't really have any 'concepts', but I /do/ have a superhero, comic book name generator site to offer. :) http://www.seventhsanctum.com

It's where I get a lot of mine. There's also an organization namer, a power namer, etc. Fun stuff to play around with, and it's GREAT for ideas! :D
