orikesBlargh. My dad just called to tell me that he'd been admitted to the hospital for the night for observation. He'd been having chest pains. He says they don't think it was anything, but just want to keep an eye on him.
On one hand, I know he's probably downlplaying things and it's a pretty serious thing.
On the other hand, he's well enough to still be a complete smart ass.
I really hope this turns out to be nothing. It's really sad. Even though he's in far better health than my mom, I worry most about losing him. If something happened to my mom, I'd be upset, but I wouldn't be devastated. Her health has been declining since the divorce and she's not really putting much effort into trying to keep what health she has. Heck, we almost thought we were going to lose her last fall. For Dad, though, I'd be a basket case. An absolute basket case.
Edit: I talked to his girlfriend and then talked to him again. The doctors don't think it's anything serious, but they wanted to keep him over night just to be sure. Apparently they did an EKG and some other stuff and it didn't look like there was anything wrong with his heart, but the pain went away when they gave him a nitroglycerin pill, which usually means there is a heart issue. Not good, but... hopefully it's nothing serious.

James' dad was taken to the hospital a bit ago with chest pains and he couldn't move his arm and so forth... and it turned out he was just having horrible acid reflux! Can you imagine? So, I hope it's something like that!
Don't worry, he is going to be ok!
