T-Minus Ten Hours and Counting
Aug. 8th, 2006 07:09 pmWelp, less than 12 hours and I’ll be on my way to Indianapolis for GenCon. I’m pretty psyched, but also a bit frazzled for everything I have to get done, including trying to get at least a couple of hours sleep before getting up at 4am to shower and get to Henrietta by 5am to meet our ride. I generally don’t do early, and I usually consider early to be 8am.
Everyone keeps telling me, “Just sleep in the car.” The only problem with that is I rarely succeed at sleeping in the car. By the time we get there and get in the car and on the road, I’ll probably be wideawake and wanting to chatter away. At some point, I’ll probably get tired, but who knows if I’ll actually be able to sleep.
One we’re there, we have to haul our luggage around with us for a few hours. We can’t check into the hotel until after the guy whose name it’s in gets there. He might get a free upgrade, so it’s probably worth waiting for. We also have to get in touch with Doug’s old high school friend ‘Other Eric’ and possibly have dinner with him. We also need to call ‘Siberys and Khyber’ and possibly have dinner with them (skotte gets the reference). They should be free after 6 or 7.
Tonight I have to run to the store, get all my stuff packed and make sure my animals are all set. And sleep. Ha. That’ll happen.
Eitherway, when I get back, I should have pictures and other stuff. Whee!

Date: 2006-08-11 04:27 am (UTC)It's the end of the first day, and it's been pretty good so far. I got all three books of Order of the Stick and signed by Rich Burlew. He drew a character in each for me. I got Elan, Haley and Durkon. The line was absolutely horrendous. Took me an hour and a half. By the time I was thinking of giving up, though, I was halfway through, so I decided to stick it out. I ended up getting some overpriced OOTS Christmas Ornaments, but I got the free Belkar fridge magnet and free cute Elan and Banjo the Clown pin.
I got to spend a couple of minutes shyly talking with Gigi Edgely (from Farscape - played Chiana), and I got to see how Neverwinter Nights 2 looks. It sure looks sweet.
Anyway, I don't know why I'm telling you this. I'm going to post it in a moment. :)
