orikesLost broke my brain, but not for the reasons that it usually breaks brains, I believe.
This has been bothering me immensely for some reason. It keeps kicking around in my brain and I’m not quite sure why.
Boone is dead. I didn’t even like him. I was thinking in the very episode he gets hurt how he is my least favorite character. But even with that, I hate that he died.
I think it has to do with the fact that his death was combined with making Locke… vulnerable. Even though Lock doesn’t seem trustworthy and he’s got his own agenda, there was something determined and committed about him. He was on a quest and he’d been right each time so far. Now, either he’s wrong and Boone died because of it, or he was right and Boone died anyway.
When I watch the show, I usually watch them in 4 episode chunks. Last night’s four also gave me the Hurley episode, which was probably one of my favorites so far. That one was a great mix of humor and poignancy. So I’m also irritated at the Boone dying episode for being the downer after a couple of really good episodes.
It’ll be a week before I get a chance to watch the next and last bunch for this season. I want them right now, but I’m also dreading what’s going to be happening next.
Not to mention I’m also dreading the fact that the Season 2 isn’t due out until OCTOBER. Grrrr.
