I'll Take P for $500, Vanna
May. 4th, 2006 03:54 pmHey Look! It’s a Meme.
Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write five words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.
silverselene gave me the letter "P”
1. Pheme – The dark winged goddess of fame and report, a goddess who didn’t know when to keep her mouth shut. Pheme is also the name I used for my staff alt on Aether and Aether II. It was a good name to use – short, sweet, and fun to say (Feem or Feemee). Somehow, my time at Aether as staff also became associated with cheese. I would always sign my posts with some reference to cheese. Royale with Cheese, Cheesewiz, Gotta Getta Gouda. Weird random bits of cheesiness.
2. Pippin – Pippin also gets called Pip, Pipperoni, Fuzzbutt, Fluffball, and Pisser. For a rodent, he has an astoundingly strong little personality. He never hesitates to scold me if I’m doing something he doesn’t approve of. He’ll beg for a raisin, then turn his nose up at it just to spite me. He’s also a brave and spunky bit of fluff since he likes to taunt Pashenko, the big fat cat. I was a little worried when I got his new cage, since the bars would allow the cats to put a paw through if they so desired. So far, this hasn’t turned out to be a problem. Pashenko will reach in, but Pippin turns around and scolds him and that’s the end of it.
3. Pizza – The food of the gods. Is there anything more that needs to be said about pizza? Its only requirement is that it have melted cheese on it in adequate to abundant quantities. Mmm.
4. Photography – I need to take more pictures. Photography has become such a big part of my life over the years. It was always important from the fact that I enjoyed taking pictures, but since I got my digital camera for Christmas a couple years ago, it has taken on a new meaning. On one hand, my professional employed life revolves around photography. While we do a great deal of support for getting the software on the computer to work with the camera, we also deal with the cameras themselves. One of the simultaneous joys and frustrations I’ve experienced with this job are customer sample images. It’s always interesting to see what people are taking pictures of (the gorgeous house on the hill in the woods, the Katrina evacuee’s hotel room piled high with laundry, the couple on a fog touched beach in the tropics somewhere, the naked baby butt in the bathroom), but there are many, many dumb people out there who don’t know how to take pictures.
5. Profundity – Sometimes I wonder if I have trouble succeeding in the overall game of life because I get so caught up in the profundity of the small moments that I lose track of things moving forward. It’s easy for me to get so caught up in the feeling of a momentary thing that I have time pass by on the large, lifetime aspects. I don’t know that I’d want to change, though. I think this makes me a happier person overall. Yeah, there are things I could have should have done, but for the most part I can’t let myself regret. I’ve been happy and I’ve enjoyed the life I’ve had. It may not make a great movie, but there’s been beauty aplenty in it.
