Six! Six Interviews! Ah Ah Ah!
May. 4th, 2004 02:42 amFreaky freaky, but I just went six for six. Six weeks, six interviews. Well, I haven’t gone on the interview yet. It’s this coming Thursday, but it was the sixth one scheduled. I’m relieved but a bit unnerved by it.
I’m still hoping one of them actually comes through as a job. A real live job. With an income. Tomorrow I need to call and harass the temp agencies again. I’m starting to get very pissed with Adecco. It’s been four weeks since I’ve been trying to get in touch with the woman who supposedly has my file now that the jerk who had it before was fired. Admittedly, I’ve only called once each week, but you would still think she might respond to a message asking for a call back. Of course, the thing I’ve come to realize is that it’s a buyer’s market as far as jobs are concerned, so most of the temp agencies are treating potential employees like crap since they can pretty much get the cream of the crop. Hell, I had the woman at Office Careers tell me that my six years of administrative and clerical experience wasn’t good enough. *grumbles*
Anyway, I’m still mostly positive about things. Occasionally the worry creeps in, but the panic I was feeling at the end of March has pretty much stayed away. I know I’m working at trying to find a job and the interviews are proof of that. Something’s gotta give sooner or later.
In other news, I’m currently torturing myself with a three-day trial of an online radio service. They’ve got a GREAT Broadway channel that’s feeding my fascination with show tunes quite completely. So how’s that torturing me? Well, I know there’s no way I can afford it when it runs out Wednesday afternoon. I suppose I can try looking up some other online radio stations, but I kinda like this one. Even if I did have money, though, I don’t know that I could justify their cost.
Ah well.
