Crap Yourself Out!
Apr. 28th, 2004 12:39 amLittle kid humor has got to be one of the funniest things in the world to witness. I mean, we’ve all been laughing at things our whole lives and we never think about how a sense of humor actually forms. But it’s got to get a start somewhere.
Raina, my friends’ three-year-old is one of my best buddies. She and I adore each other. Whenever she’s over, I play some flash movies and such that are amusing. She’s particularly fond of ‘Peanut Butter Jelly Time’. One day, I showed her the movie preview for ‘Home on the Range’. She –died- laughing at the end of the clip where the horse whacks himself in the head and goes, “Who put this here?” Suddenly, this became her punchline to everything. She’d be talking to me on the phone and suddenly go, “Ang?” “Yes Raina?” “Who put this here!?” And of course, both of us would start giggling.
Her mom called me today and cracked me up with another anecdote. Apparently, they were all sitting down to dinner and having a fairly innocuous, normal family conversation. Raina found something very funny and started laughing uproariously. Looking to her parents, she stated, “I crapped myself out!”
Now, knowing that they don’t use the word ‘crap’ all that much, it took a very long time to figure out that she was TRYING to say ‘I cracked myself up.’ Kids are just too damn cute sometimes. I know she craps me out. ;)
