Third Time's the Charm?
Apr. 15th, 2004 11:05 pmWoo! I had another interview today. Apparently virtually papering the city with my resume is actually showing some results. For the last three months, I’ve been e-mailing any job remotely close to what I think I’m qualified for, and in the last two and a half weeks, I’ve had three interviews, one temp agency meeting, and a call from a recruiter. I’ve got to have SOMETHING turn up soon.
There was a call this morning about 8am that I was too asleep to get up an answer, but it turned out to be one of the many random places I sent my resume wanting me to come in for an interview. When I was awake, I called them back and arranged to come in today around 4ish.
The pros of this job would be that it’ll pay well, is right on the bus line, and will offer a variety of work for me to do. Pretty much the ‘jack of all trades’ style of admin assistant. It’s a growing company, so there’s a lot of room for growth. They don’t have a graphic design team, so there’s always a chance they would let me expand off into that. I imagine they outsource most of what they get done now.
The con is the dress code. Business professional. Oofdah. I hate getting dressed up. I’m such a tomboy. I’ve got two, maybe three outfits that can pass for good business professional. The good thing is, despite the dress code, they don’t seem nearly as stuffy as Manning and Napier was. Still, one of my first paychecks that isn’t going to get my bills from being so dangerously past due will have to go towards clothes shopping. If, of course, I get the job.
Honestly, the phone company one is still the one I find most appealing, but all of the interviews have been for jobs that would help me get back on track.
