Time and Pirates!
Jun. 21st, 2005 05:14 pmI’d like about ten more hours in the day. I honestly don’t mind working ten hour days, other than the fact that I can’t really complete all the non-work things I want to do when I get home. Housework gets ignored and I don’t have enough brain power for many of the computer projects I have lined up.
I did have a pretty productive weekend, even with having most of Saturday spent at a Gradumatated party for a friend. Sunday I was able to completely clean my kitchen and dining room to a point where I wasn’t totally disgusted by going into them. And Marnie even felt the urge to clean her glasses when I was done (Marnie doesn’t use dishes otherwise, but she goes through about two glasses a day and just leaves them on the counter or in the sink – this wouldn’t bother me since I’m far more of a slob, but occasionally a glass gets knocked over and broken which bothers me since they are my glasses).
I got to play Pirates this weekend, which was quite cool. Pirates is a collectible card game where you buy packs and get little ships you can put together along with other little doodads. It’s rather fun and addicting. I got my ass kicked as far as the gold gathering goes, but I did sink the most number of ships. Out of my opponents eight ships, I sank four of them. Of course, they stole two of my ships and sank one, and my gold was quite paltry compared to theirs. I had the bad luck of finding some of the ‘special’ treasure. Like Plague. Yes, Plague is considered a treasure. Blargh. :) Anyway, I’m thoroughly addicted. Need more ships!
And I need blue felt to serve as an ocean and clips to hold the felt to the table and I want a carrying case for my ships and I want special skull and cross bones dice for rolling and I want more ships, of course!
Tonight maybe I’ll take a picture of a couple of my ships. I’ve got some good ones. ;)

Date: 2005-06-22 09:49 pm (UTC)The 'go buy more packs' thing for me is actually wanting to see more ships. There's also that little tiny thrill at knowing I got a rare one. Like my La Victorie. Pirate ship with a French crew. Kicks complete arse and both of my opponents came to fear her black sails! YAR!
But I'll probably end up buying a few more packs and then cut back some. :) Right now I'm working on American and Pirate fleets. I also have one tiny little French ship. Le Woo!
