The job’s going okay so far. For now it’s just classroom training, so while I might be bored occasionally, I simply remind myself that I’m getting paid to learn about digital cameras. That’s pretty nifty when it comes down to it.

I like the guy teaching the group. He’s got an incredibly oddball sense of humor and has a constant monologue running about what we’re doing, what he’s doing, and it’s all peppered with random jokes that seem to amuse him as much as he means it to amuse us. He also sounds like James Woods. If I close my eyes and just listen to him (which I have been tempted as a result of trying to switch my sleep schedule), I can picture James Woods from some movie or another, ranting at some indignity. Either way, it makes training not completely intolerable.

I should probably call Melissa from the portrait studio and let her know that I still may be available in June if she is going to still need another retoucher there. I hate the idea of having to be to work that early again, but I really did enjoy the work. We’ll see. I don’t want to close that door completely, but I am going to definitely keep my eye out for other graphic design positions.

Retouching was much fun. I really really REALLY enjoyed the job. But the pay sucked ass. I've kept my eyes out for other jobs like that, but not even nationally can I find stuff listed like that.
