Lite Sunday Spam
Mar. 22nd, 2009 04:43 pmYou know, they actually do make Lite Spam. I don't know why anyone would bother. If you're going to eat spam, just eat the real stuff, y'know? They also make Turkey Spam, but again, I don't know why you would bother.
I've actually made some progress on writing 4.11. I whined about it last week and after that seemed to find enough focus to get through some of it. I'm only going to say it's about halfway done at this point, but that's better than where I was last week. Technically there's still one scene to actually shoot, but I was putting that off while I struggled with writing the scenes I did have.
As a result, I have only minor picspam for you.

"This is a bad idea. This is a really bad idea. I'm telling you, it's one of the worst ideas you've ever had, Ori."

"No, not that. I'm talking about having me initialize Godfrey."
Well, someone had to do it. Kids can't initialize servos, so I can't have Professor Butters do it again, and you at least have the same aspiration he does. It was either you or Stacie available at the time, so I had you do it.
"But there are.. issues with me initializing a servo."
What kind of issues?

"Huggy issues."
Heh. Seriously, I needed Godfrey back, so I had Doc initialize him. I figured I could adjust his personality later, but since she was there and was a knowledge sim, it would make sense for her to initialize him.
The first thing I noticed was that his want panel was full of wants for dates and other romantic things. The second thing I noticed was that his first independent action was to reach out and hug Doc.

His second independent action was to gossip about Stacie.
Doc somehow immediately infects them with crazy hugginess. And probably a little gayness, but that hasn't had a chance to show up yet.

Of course, there may be reasons to gossip about Stacie.
"For some reason, I keep thinking there's something I should be doing right now, but I can't remember what it was."
Something about keeping the children from playing in the street maybe?
I will say that lil'Marina surprised me. She stopped playing catch with the Professor before it turned into WHAP, which it invariably does with lil'Prof.

I know everyone's been asking what happened with all the childified simselves. I've been trying to get back to them, but between all the other things I've been trying to get done and the writer's block, it's taken a while. They will be showing up in 4.11. In fact, that's the scene I still need to shoot.
Part of the problem I ran into was that the SSC HQ was completely undecorated. I thought I had saved a decorated version before I moved anyone into it back in the day, but apparently I did not. FAIL. As a result, I've had to redecorate before I could shoot what I needed. It's a big building, and had a very distinctive look, so it's taken me a while to find the energy to give it a go. I think at this point I've got it decorated enough to do the scenes I need to, so I should be able to get those soon enough.
Since this is very miniscule spam, I decided to throw some oldies into the mix. I randomly grabbed one of my old 'Not Used' folders and selected some pictures. As it happened, the folder I selected was from Gen Three's college days.

When I first grew Brody up, I sent him downtown to get new clothes (this was before I discovered InSim and some of the other clothing hacks). I also had him scope out the room. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to do for his plot and I wanted to breed him with a red head, so I was seriously considering this particular option.
Ultimately, though, I like that particular sim a little too much to have turned her into a bitch working for Grimlock.

For a while, I was considering using this dormie. He got along with her well enough. I was also considering Ericka the gardener, until I discovered that she lied about her red hair. Brody wasn't particularly enamored with either of them, though.

He did like 'Laci Mazza', though.
I'd actually forgotten that this had happened until I saw the picture of it. Heather was always his first choice, but since she couldn't live on the Greek House lot with him, he'd sometimes make choices of convenience.

Of course, part of the problem with convenience was that Genesis was right there and she and Brody had two bolts together. They actually did a little bit of ACR fooling around, but never developed hearts for one another. I probably could have thrown this into the story, but it seemed too similar to what had happened between Charlie and Zoey the generation before and it was out of character for Brody with the relationship he was building with Heather.

Luckily, the moment Micah moved in the house, any issues between Brody and Genesis completely vanished.
It's funny, they say that Pop and Knowledge sims are incompatible. Bull hockey, I say. Genesis and Micah may not have had stalkerish boltage, but they have been one of the best couples I've had in game.

I also found a picture of Deena's first look. I forget why I decided to change her. At some point, I decided to give her a different hair style and I think I decided that white was just wrong for her. It's too innocent of a color and she was anything but innocent. I also wasn't fond of the sandals with this outfit.

Speaking of makeovers, this is the original outfit I had Persephone in. It's funny how tastes change. Two years later and I look at this outfit and go, "What the hell was I thinking."
I actually changed her outfit because I thought this outfit was corrupt. I'd some how corrupted Persephone during a photoshoot for the heir poll. Luckily, I had a relatively recent back up, but before I switched to that, I thought the problem might be this outfit so I deleted it. By the time I figured out what the problem really was, I didn't want to see this outfit again. So she wore the blue hippie outfit from AAS instead.
I look at some of the cc I downloaded back then and I really do wonder what I was thinking. Most of it is long gone at this point, but still.

Finally, I leave you a picture of Matthew as he was.
These pictures are almost exactly two years old. I uploaded Gen Three's college chapter sometime in March 2007. Here it is March 2009 and I'm struggling to get Gen Five to college. I'll get there, but man I wish I was a little faster. :)
