Apparently my SimPage got hit by downraters. While all my stories and houses are all fine with good ratings, somehow my SimPage got knocked down to 1 star. This really amuses me since there's really nothing that downrating a SimPage can do. It's not like EAxis would remove a sim page for a low rating. I imagine most people don't even realize you can rate SimPages.

Anyway, I've only had little spurts of time to play the game. Every time I want to get into it, there's something else that comes up that I need to take care of. I might be going out of town this weekend, so that probably won't give me much time either, but we shall see.

Over the last few days, I have gotten to play Miranda's house. I'll refrain from mentioning the winner out in the open just in case someone hasn't read it yet and I don't feel like putting in a cut. I think most of you know, though. I finished up the house a little more, but only decorated the main areas. I'll finish out the rest of it as they earn money. They've tried for baby about nine times, but the lullaby remains elusive.

I started looking at the pictures I have set aside for 4.8. There are close to 1500 pictures in the folder (no thumbnails), but when I pulled what I knew I would use for 4.8, I had .. 24. Huh. This confused me.

When I thought about it, though, I realized I'd pretty much played up to Ian's death and then stopped. A couple of houses were played forward to the beginning of fall, but for the most part, they're all waiting for me to play. That's an odd feeling.

I'm thinking of just digging in and playing and shooting the plotty scenes in the dummy hood that I have set up. I'm a little worried that might be come too habit forming, but I really want to play. Shelby has been pregnant since May. Venus is pregnant (I think) and not showing. Louise is ready to grow up into a little girl. Jeremiah and Meadow have twins that I still haven't seen as toddlers yet.

It was like I finished the BC and eagerly stepped over to the main legacy and realized I had no idea what I needed to do next. It's good to see all my other sims again, though.

That's a weird thing to downrate. My stories all got hit again (and hadn't rebounded from the last time, naturally), but I don't think anyone's gone after my SimPage.

WHAT????!!!

OK, that seriously, seriously irritates me. Who are these people?

I'd go in and uprate, but I think I've already got your SimPage rated at five stars. I'll check anyway.

GRAH. PEOPLE.

That's incredibly stupid. And it would have to be some kind of group effort to bring the thing down to one star, I would think. What a bunch of losers.

Ugh for downraters and yay for having lots of playing to do before you update? Well, not yay for us readers, but sometimes it is nice to NOT be behind in the updating because then you can just play guilt free for a little while. I'm sure you will figure out what to do next soon. You just have to switch gears from BC to legacy. :-)

That's a weird thing to downrate, but I guess it's also a rating that gets skipped a lot by upraters. You get to play for awhile!!! But that means we don't get to read for awhile, hmm :(

You know, I actually find these downraters to be dimwits. If they had a grudge against you, because your story is better than theirs or the usual bullcrap, why don't they just downrate your stories? Very foolish, very dumb, very pointless... and I'm sure it doesn't change anyone's view on how they see you.

I'm very eager to see what you have in store for 4.8. It's definitely a big smack in the face when you have all these ideas, but only so few pictures. That happened to me when thinkinh about the Bachelor Challenge (which I haven't yet gotten to =P) where I was like, "YAY! Bachelor Challenge! Wedding Cakes! Honeymoon! Wait... I need Bachelorettes... crap."

Ugh, downraters are annoying. I get hit as soon as one of my chapters hits the top fifty or so stories. It's only really irritating because I use the rating on my chapters to sort of judge how many people are reading--if it goes up, I know someone else has opened it to read it :).

I'm excited to see your next update, too. It's nice having that... freedom. I've had times like that, where I've written exactly up to where I've played.

I think it was one of the few things that they could actually attack and affect to look bad. Most of the stories have enough readers that they can only knock them down a couple of decimal points if that.

It's kind of funny in a way. It has to be several people since one person with a grudge couldnt' drop anything like that. It doesn't really bother me, though since it's a pretty silly thing.

They DO attack the stories. But the stories have enough readers that the downraters really can only knock it down a few decimal points if that. People probably don't rate SimPages that often, so it's an easy one to knock down.

It's actually not going to affect my timeline for an update at all. Most of 4.8 is going to be plotty staged scenes. So while I'm working on those, I'll also be doing some playing to get the random stuff for 4.9. ;)

There's something funny about downrating. I mean, yeah, with sims, or houses - stuff that it can hurt - it's bad, no questions asked. But with stories, or simpages? I have never ever looked at the amount of stars a story has before reading it. I didn't even know that simpages could be rated. *shrugs* I don't particularly care if my stories are downrated, because the people at boolprop, which I care about way more than the exchange, don't really seem to care.

I was checking your Simpage the other day and I noticed you only had one star.
I thought my computer must not be showing the other four because you're too good for that!
Errgh, silly downraters. I actually think maybe EAxis should remove the whole rating system . . . I mean, it's cool when you have five stars, but the downraters are annoying. Still, that's just my take.
(BTW, it's Jobot from Boolprop.)

That's really really odd. Probably someone with multiple accounts, or maybe someone just couldn't be bothered to go in and wait for individual items to load to downrate them.

I actually really enjoyed getting to play sans picture taking when I realized I desperately needed to catch up the second degree spares to the main family, but I guess if you've got mainly staged plot to shoot for next chapter that's a bit of a different story.

For some reason I wasn't signed in when I posted this just now, I have now rectified that.

I have never understood downrating, be it for stories, Sims or lots, and definitely not for sim pages. Why does a sim page even have a rating? It's not like one is any better than another. Ugh.

Anyway. Yay, you get to play and shoot plotty scenes! You must be so happy to get back to your legacy Sims after so long.

I always forget that it's even possible to rate a simpage. Seems a really odd thing to hit.

Thanks for not posting the winner! I'm trying to get my ass in gear and get myself caught up but in the meantime I appreciate not being spoiled. Anyway, I'm glad for you that you can finally get back to your neighborhood.

My simpage got downrated a couple of weeks ago to one star. However, when I posted the chapter yesterday, it was back up to 4. People are schmucks sometimes.

I can't wait to see what you do with the next chapter. Especially now that we can see Miranda's response to the last chapter's outcome.
