The upgrade is done. My computer is now running a 750watt power supply and 3GB of ram. Woohah!

Already I've seen some improvements. With the addition of AL to my Sims2 game, I was seeing loading times upwards and beyond 25 minutes from clicking on the button to entering a house. With the new upgrades, it took under 10 minutes from click to entering a hosue. I can live with that.

Now to see if it'll let me play with visible fishes again without constant BSOD crashes. If it won't, that means it's time to start looking for a new video card.

Yay for upgrades! I haven't seen the regular fish in a long time, but then I noticed the other night that I could see them in that huge new tank that came with AL! It made me so happy. I forgot to check to see if I can mysteriously now see the regular ones, though.

I hope you can! And I'm glad you got faster loading times!

A 25-minute load time? CRAZINESS! Even when I was running with 512 MB of RAM it wasn't 25 minutes!

Yippee for upgrades!

Before AL, it wasn't that bad. I think the combination of adding AL, Ikea Stuff, and having 2.4GB of cc was creating a very very long load time. :}

I still need to clean out my cc, but I've wanted to do this upgrade for a while.

I'm wondering if the new fishtank is designed slightly different compared to the other fish tanks. Maybe that's why you can see the fishies. :) I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, though I'm debating finding room for it in the Legacina home. The thing is so freakin' cool. :)

Computers not sucking FTW! Somehow in the world of unfairness my brother has a monster gaming tailored computer with more memory than he knows what to do with and I'm stuck storing my entire life on my laptop, so I envy you I truly do. Although I don't think my loading time is that bad (25 minutes WTF?) although my loading time is when I do most of my reading now...so my loading time is about a chapter long...

I would consider knocking my brother upside the head to induce amnesia so I could steal his beefy gaming machine. :) Of course, my brother is actually fairly computer illiterate, so would come to me for computer stuff anyway.

I have a strange schedule, so there are times when I've only got an hour or so to pop open the game and do stuff I need to do. With a loading time of 25 minutes, it was taking me forever to do what I needed to do this week (plotty scenes for the BC). Now with the new machine, I can get in and out pretty quick and get what I need.

As it stands right now, I've got all the scenes and it's just a matter of writing. *whimper*

I would probably do that to if I were capable of turning it on without his help (They hide the buttons on it and I'm not good with technology *whiiiiiine* ;) ) My brother is actually very smart, except for the part where he trashed his old computer by clicking the links that said "You have won a free flat screen TV" which was clearly all a ploy to make it unusable and get a new one...

Wait, I had a point in here somewhere...Oh yeah: Yayz for BC! Hope your writing muse doesn't abandon you, will be crossing my fingers for it before I run away (no pressure or anything ;) )

Holy Moley! You have 2.4 GB of CC and your game loads in 10 minutes now? I am very impressed. *debates getting that third stick of RAM* I don't really have a load time problem I just want the game to run with less lag without having to turn down my graphic options too far. I think I can get from opening the game to house in 5 or so minutes, especially if I skip the intro trailer but then I don't have nearly that much CC. I checked and I have about 458 MB. I think I need to go on a downloading spree. :-)

Also, yay for next chapter of the BC!
