Doing Something You Love
Jul. 3rd, 2004 12:12 amIt’s amazing how fast a day goes by when you’re enjoying what you’re doing. I’d always heard that, but never quite believed it. Now I think I’m a believer.
So far, this new job feels very comfortable. I got a handle on color correcting fairly quickly, and I’m very good at ‘smoothing’. I need to be a little more aware of what counts as a blemish as well as catch and deal with the ‘moray’ that occurs from using digital cameras in the studios. I’m not sure if that’s the correct spelling or what it’s from, but it’s basically an issue where clothing tends to get a rainbow reflection of sorts. Mostly, I think I’m getting a good handle on things and will be up to speed in no time. The day goes by pretty speedily. The four hours a night spent at the call center job felt like three times the amount of time spent at the eight hours for this job.
The early hour is still a bit of a problem for me, night owl that I am. It’s very hard to make myself go to bed before midnight. It’s not a huge issue, but I do wish the day started just a little bit later. I’d happily cut my lunch to a half an hour and come in at 8am or something. It would also help if I had a car. It’d be about a 15 minute drive to the lab instead of a 45 minute bus ride. Ah well, one step at a time.
