... But then I got tired of being teased by my New England relatives, so I switched to 'soda'.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

I got the same result too, but being born and raised in NE Ohio, that's not really much of a surprise. :)

And hey, that lady in your icon looks mighty familiar. ;)

I got...
"You definitely have a Boston accent, even if you think you don't. Of course, that doesn't mean you are from the Boston area, you may also be from New Hampshire or Maine."

I dunno about this. My Dad has a Boston-via-New-Hampshire accent, and he definitely speaks differently than I do. Also, nobody has ever accused me of being from the northeast. ;)
(or anywhere else for that matter)

In retrospect, I suppose I called it Pop in HS and got ridiculed by college mates in Kansas and then switched to Soda. But that was 10 years ago.

It's nice to know you and I talk alike though. ;)
