orikesAs I expected, the job I interviewed for today is probably not going to work out. See, when it comes down to it, I'm too honest for my own damn good.
The interview itself went just fine. Got there on time, filled out their standard application and took a little math test to ensure that I would be able to measure 3 1/4 inches reasonably well. Waited for a little bit, then they brought me back to the conference room and chatted with me a bit. The guy seemed fairly receptive to me and my portfolio. I actually thought the company was pretty interesting and they had some fairly strong benefits.
But (and you know there had to be one) they're looking to fill an opening on second shift. Second shift runs from 4:30pm to 12:30am. There's no way in hell that a bus runs out there that late, and it's not likely that I will be able to find someone on a regular basis to get me out there. Of course, I didn't really have to tell him that I had no car. I could have just kept that my dirty little secret and see if they offered me the job. Then I could have decided if it was worth actually trying to deal with.
Well, either way, it felt good to get called for an interview so soon. Well, relatively soon. Last year I went almost six months without an interview.
As a side note, I've still been playing with my camera. I love the little thing, it's just so darn cute.
