"It can't get any worse .."
Apr. 7th, 2004 11:13 pmYou always think you’ve got it bad until it gets a little worse. I always caution people to never say, “It can’t get any worse.” Because surely it can and you simply don’t want to tempt fate to make you remember that fact.
Since Astra reopened Aether (http://aether.mux.net) for a reunion weekend, I’ve been poking at my logs from back then. My A drive is being wonky, so I can’t look at the ones on floppy disk, but I still have a handful on zip disk. It’s fun to look through the old scenes I played out with Oriane and Caioma, but what really kicked me in the butt was a snippet from a log from Pheme, where I was whining to a friend about how life was being rough and I just needed to get my feet under me again. Ha! And to think I was just whining to another friend that life was going pretty good three to four years ago…
I guess it’s all a matter of perspective. While the troubles of four years ago may have been nothing compared to what the last couple of years have been like, it was still a thorn in my side back then. It wasn’t as if I was going to dismiss a stress I felt then just because a couple of years down the line things would be worse.
It is starting to get better, though. It’s probably partially the fact that Spring is here and my mood is starting to pick up, but I’ve had a couple of job interviews recently, and they could turn out to be something worthwhile. The graphic design jobs are still a rather endangered species the area, but it seems as if the administrative/clerical jobs are picking up a bit.
I refuse to say that things can’t get any worse, but I do know they can and will get better.
