It's alive! ALIVE!

And now for some pics that may or may not be spoilerish.

I so wanted to include this scene in the update, but I just couldn't think of what to say. Cecil is hard to write, because I don't want to make him a flat out villain, but he should be all sorts of shades of gray. He's narcisstic and self-interested. But that doesn't mean he's necessarily a bad guy.

I loved the pictures, but the words wouldn't come.

The easiest scene in the whole thing to write was the beginning of the hot tub. I started laughing so hard when Lance got nekkid. Both Scott and Dwight shrieked, but Miranda just smiled and watched. I almost used this picture since it's a clearer shot of Miranda's face, but I didn't want to lose Dwight's shriek.

Here's proof that Miranda is now crushing on three of the bachelors. I found it surprising that she ended up crushing on Cecil, but he slipped down in the rankings. Dean and Farnsworth didn't surprise me in the slightest for obvious reasons.

Obvious reasons like this.

This was a great picture, but I couldn't quite work it in. Doesn't it look like Cecil and Farny are trying to kiss?

"Please don't tell me you're going to show that picture to people? I don't want to be known as the guy who kissed Cecil."

"And what, praytell, would be amiss with kissing me?"

Even though I only used one picture, the scene with Uranium and Devon was a lot of fun to shoot. They both had great faces. I kept thinking of Doc and how she compared Uranium to a kitten. Cute, but deadly with those claws.

I've got all the random stuff for Day Three shot, so I just need to get the plotty stuf together. I'd like to have it out by next Tuesday, but I'm not sure that will happen. I've got GenCon next week, so I'll be away from the computer from Tuesday night to Monday morning.

Heh, that's my sim's nekkid butt.
I haven't read it yet but I clicked anyway. Glad you worked past the issues you were having!

Ohhh, GenCon! I wish I was going this year but I can't. Hope you have fun!

That shot with Miranda, Dean, and Farnsworth and the heart-farting is cracking me up. And also the shot of Cecil and Farnsworth simul-"it's raining!" because it really does look like they're gonna kiss, and that is so, so wrong on so, so many levels. Sort of like in the Asylum when Cecil was tickling an underpants-clad, volleyball-talking Cypress.

Yes, Devon Decker Cyd Roseland. DO NOT PET URANIUM'S TUMMY.

Cons sound like fun. I wish I'd realized ComicCon was coming up sooner; I totally would have snagged a ticket and headed downtown.

I'm so glad the inspiration finally hit--going to comment properly on your update in a few minutes. In the meantime, those are terrific shots... I hate when I have to cut stuff 'cause the words just don't flow, too.

Yeah, great shots don't always mean great captions. That's why LJ is awesome for the extras!

Read it, loved it, will comment once I've caught up on some other terrific updates (like the last two Sim Spades!)

There's nothing really wrong with kissing Cecil. Ask Toast's simself. He always has tip-top dental hygiene. You write him very well, btw.

The picture of Miranda watching Lancelot getting into the tub is hilarious (slaps self for noticing Miranda's eyeline.)

I'm so glad I have a late flight and got to see these and read the chapter. I'm taking my laptop along, as it turns out, but I'm not dumb enough to take it on a sailing vessel, so from Sunday night-Friday AM I won't be reading anything. I'm just happy you got out the chapter!

Haha, you're right, it does look like Cecil and Farnsworth are trying to kiss ... however, it looks more like a very awkward, don't-know-what-to-do first kiss ...

Also. That butt came out of freaking nowhere! Here I am, scrollin' down the page, and there it is. A butt. How nice. Heh, I kid.

Ever since Brystin's legacy, I've always perceived those handcuffs as sexual. Never police-work, no no. Always with the WooHoo.

Anyway, I loved the update! I'm looking foward to more.

Ooh, you've gone to GenCon before? If you decide to go again, let me know. I'd love to say hi in person. In a not stalker-crazy-internet-person type of way. :)

I love that shot too. It didn't quite work in the story, but it was so related to the way those three are together.

I'd love to get to ComicCon some year, but for now I stick with GenCon and Origins, since they're within driving distance. San Diego requires a plane ride for me. :)

I'm so glad I got this out in time for you to read before your vacation. I was worried you had a morning flight, so I'd get it out as you were sitting on a tarmac somewhere waiting for a delayed plane to take flight. I hope you enjoy your vacation, though, Prof. It sounds like a good time.

When Lancelot got in the tub nekkid, I about died. I was so nervous about playing it legitimately and getting good shots that this one threw me for a loop. It really made me relax with the picture taking and just get what they presented. Which was a lot. I just had trouble coming up with the words for everything.

Thanks for the compliment on how I write Cecil. Sometimes he throws interactions and faces that are difficult to reconcile with how he's normally presented. He's grown on me, though. :)

Weeell. . . not actually on the tarmac, no. . . but the weather systems in the Southwest did bump me off the flight I was supposed to be on. . . and it's kind of a mess. At least they told us it was all FUBAR'd, and at least I'm all packed and printed out the new boarding passes. I might be able to get some sleep or maybe not, but it could *definitely* be way worse.

I'm not surprised he's growing on you. Doc said I wrote him exactly as he is, which is kind of true, but what is also kind of true is that his particular kind of horrible is largely exaggerated or even made up for plot purposes. :) Anyway, you're doing a great job with him, and at the moment in SC he is on vacation, kind of not like me :( so he did indeed run away to the beach.

I'm looking forward to the next one whenever it comes out!

I used to go more regularly when it was still in Milwaukee, but yeah I go. Now I'm even more sad that I'm not going this year! It would be really cool to bump into you.

This cracks me up so I'll share. This is my youngest older brother at GenCon last year ==> http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa221/ahrubyblue/benjgencon.jpg

Hah! That's awesome!

If you've been in the last couple of years, we may have already run into one another. Not probable considering the number of people that go to GenCon, but still. The first time I went was 2006, and I was back last year. I'm debating on whether or not I'll make it next year since it is pretty expensive, but ... It's fun. I like it. :)
