Too Many Slides
Jun. 12th, 2008 03:40 amWarning: Mostly Sim Stuff Ahead
I've been working a bit at 4.7. After I had posted the cover, I realized I had forgotten to shoot a scene that I needed. With things as busy as they've been, it took me a while to find the time to get the scene shot. Now it's done and I've laid out the story.
135 slides. *sigh*
Initially, it was about 147 slides. I've trimmed out as much as I think I can. I took out anything about the Thompson branch of the family (just a few pictures showing off the kids). I trimmed out some pictures of Jacob that were in just because they were cute (the ones with Star are staying because they've got some plot in them). I suppose there's a couple of slides here or there that I could lose, but still... I'm really starting to feel stretched thin.
I do NOT want to turn this into a two-parter. As it is, it ends on a pretty severe cliffhanger. Splitting it in two wouldn't really work. I've got to make this fit somehow. The most slides I've ever uploaded is 127. I suppose I could try 130 and see how it goes. That's still five slides I need to cut.
Usually when I write, I pad the number of slides I need because I know I'll take some out as I write. I'll have a few slides for a scene and realize I only need half of them. More often than not, I try and aim for 130 slides and cut down from there. This time, though, I've already done a lot of editing down. I don't know how much more the story can take and still be what I want it to be.
Ah well, I'll work it out.

Lately, I've been playing the placeholder families when I want to play but don't want to get my main families out of sync. I've already talked a little bit about the Ottomas family, but I've also been making other rounds around the neighborhood.
This little guy is Randy Ramaswami. He looks better as a child, but he's still got some chin issues. Sarah has a kid from Sanjay and Priya who is pretty handsom. He takes after Sanjay. This little guy is the spitting image of Priya. We'll see what getting older does for him.
I'm catching them all up to the main legacy rotation schedule too, because I'm a masochist like that. This includes the Ramaswamis, the Ottomas', the Travelers, the Cooke, and the Picasos. (Kat and Roseland are serving another purpose right now.)

This little one is Georgia Picaso. I find her to be an interesting sort of pretty, even though her eyebrows make her look evil. I'm not sure where the eyebrows came from. Her father looks like an easy going putz. I find her mom to be oddly pretty.
Soon, I'm going to be intermingling the genetics of these families. Trisha Traveler is already more in love with Julien Cooke than she is her husband. Of course, he's very into Mrs. Picaso who is quite the cold fish with her husband.
Anyway, enough rambling about sims that will probably never see the light of story. :)
